Preview Work in progress
The skys were dark on that day in the city. Thunder and rain were covering the streets and those standing by. The sky was filled with dark clouds and it seemed like a bad storm was about to get a lot worse. Angela Patterson stood on the porch of her apartment in the city which was at the end of the road next to the posts office. She was staring up into the clouds with a curious look on her cute face. She tightly held her small plush bear.Angela was not aware that her mother was waiting and she had no idea why everyone seemed so nervous and then her mother who was nicely dressed picked her up. Angela, too was dressed nicely and she was wearing her small bedazzled shoes with a blue dress that was soft as velvet. It was Sunday. Angela's mother Kate was deciding whether to try to drive through the bad weather. Then a strange noise screeched over the porch of the house. Now Kate and Angela who were sitting in their lazy boy recliner watching the news in their nice apartment were curious. Kate stared out the back window which had a view of the park. The park seemed as if it was dead. No life was able to be seen from her window. No yelling and laughing children. Just nothing. Angela approached the window and said: Mommy why are all the birds leaving. Quickly Kate glanced up and saw birds in great flocks flying South. Kate quickly shut the blinds and told Angela everything was okay. But this was one of the moments where Mother's would say "everything is going to be okay" but they were uncertain and had different feelings in the depths of thier minds. Kate was worried. She worried for her child and what would happen or what would become of them. Reporters were yelling on the televsion and screaming and telling people to take shelter. Kate stood there thinking in the mist of a storm one that had power unlike any other.
